چکیده

Inflammation plays an important role in the development and progression of a variety of cardiovascular conditions, most notably coronary atherosclerosis and congestive heart failure.1,2 A number of inflammatory molecules have been implicated in these processes, including interleukin-1 (IL-1). The IL-1 gene family consists of 3 proteins, IL-1 , IL-1 , and IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra). IL-1 and IL-1 exert their similar effects by binding to the IL-1 type I receptor. The IL-1 type II receptor also binds IL-1 and IL-1 but acts as a decoy receptor and is not involved in signal transduction, thereby counterbalancing the inflammatory effects of IL-1 and IL-1 . IL-1ra is an endogenous inhibitor of IL-1 and IL-1 , which competitively binds to the IL-1 type I receptor without activating it.3

The role of interleukin on uterine endometrium, placenta and embryonic

Introduction: The polypeptide cytokine interleukin-1 is found in all body tissues and plays its role in inflammatory changes. Interleukin-1 is known as alarm cytokine in defense mechanism, particularly immunological responses. The interleukin receptor is present in different tissues and in endometrial epithelium and its antagonist will be increased during preimplantation period, therefore it ...

Protective effect of interleukin-36 receptor antagonist on liver injury induced by concanavalin A in mice

Objective(s): Interleukin-36 receptor antagonist (IL-36Ra) is a new member of the IL-1 family that exhibits anti-inflammatory activity in a variety of inflammatory and immune diseases. Our purpose was to determine the effect of IL-36Ra on liver injury in a mouse hepatitis model induced by concanavalin A (ConA). Materials and Methods: Mic...

The Role of Interleukin (IL-22) in immune response to human diseases

Background and aims: IL-22 is an alpha- helical cytokine. IL-22 binds to a heterodimeric cell surface receptor composed of IL-10R2 and IL-22R1subunits. IL-22R is expressed on tissue cells, and it is absent on immune cells. L-22 and IL-10 receptor chains play a role in cellular targeting and signal transduction to selectively initiate and regulate immune responses. The aim of this study was to i...

Involvement of the 5-HT1A receptor of the cuneiform nucleus in the regulation of cardiovascular responses during normal and hemorrhagic conditions

Objective(s): The 5-hydroxytryptamine1A (5-HT1A) receptor is one of the serotonin receptors in the brain, which regulates cardiovascular responses, especially in hemorrhage. Presence of this receptor in the cuneiform nucleus (CnF) has been shown. The present study evaluates the cardiovascular effect of this receptor of the CnF in normal and hypotensive hemorrhagic rats...

Expression of IGF-1, IL-27 and IL-35 Receptors in Adjuvant Induced Rheumatoid Arthritis Model

Background: IGF-1 and certain other cytokines have been shown to exert inflammatory/anti-inflammatory roles in chronic joint diseases. Objective: To assess the effect of IGF-1, IL-27 and IL-35, their interaction and their receptor expression in a rheumatoid arthritis model. Methods: Freund’s adjuvant-induced chronic joint inflammation was operated on 160 male rats. Animals were divided into his...
